Perennial powers Team Detroit and REACH Legends join the 2011 field

The "EAST SIDE" will be well represented in downtown Grand Rapids this July as nationally recognized Team Detroit and the prestigious REACH Legends lock up their spots in the 2011 Brawl for the Ball's elite field. Known for producing some of the Detroit areas top talent year in and year out, Team Detroit and REACH Legends will be on display this July at the DeVos Place. Together both nationally recognized programs will help attract collegiate coaches from across the country. Team Detroit will be fielding a team in each of the tournament's three divisions -- Sophomore to be, Junior to be and Senior to be while the REACH Legends have committed teams in the Junior to be and Senior to be age groups.

 

REACH Legends 17u (Senior to be) is led by high major prospects 6'3 Sherron Dorsey-Walker (Detroit Pershing), 6'2 point guard Ray Lee (Huntington Prep) and 6'6 forward Chris Jenkins (UD Jesuit). Coach Webster's boys will come in with plenty of talent and a nice size target on their back as 17u Champions of the 2011 Storm Classic held this past April in Grand Rapids (visit www.stormclassic.com for results of the Storm Classic). The REACH Legends 16u (Junior to be) is one of the state's top teams and is led by 6'2 guard Martez Walker (Detroit Pershing) and 5'9 point guard Khalil Felder (Detroit Pershing).

 

Team Detroit is coming off of a 2011 Storm Classic Chamionship of their own in the 16u division and will be one of the favorites again come July. Their loaded 2013 class (Junior to be) is led by high major prospects Monte Morris (6'1 - Flint Beecher), Denzel Watts (6'1 - Flint Carmen Ainsworth) and the big fella 6'9 Leo Edwards (Romulus). Team Detroit's dominant 17u (Senior to be) is anchored by two big time players and D1 recruits in 6'6 forward Conner Tava (DeLasalle) and 6'2 guard Damon Bozeman (Madison Heights).

 

School is almost out and this July downtown Grand Rapids is quickly shaping up as the place to be seen by college coaches. Come see what all the buzz is about.
